Alternatives
These hub pages are the durable half of forkalt: they answer “what can replace X?” rather than “what is this new name?”. Each list is ordered by editors, not by star counts, and only includes options whose license and official host we opened on a dated check. We never use vendor logos. Missing candidates stay off the table until they are reviewed — an honest short list beats a padded one.
New-term tool and model pages must hang off at least one hub here so a spike of interest in a repo still lands on a page that will still make sense in a year. Some hubs (embedding APIs, classification APIs, closed LLM APIs) are editorial groupings of a product class, not a claim that any one open model matches a named vendor.
